Honda Rincon Heat-Troller installation with Moose heated grips and Moose heated thumb warmer

  1. Remove bolt on the end of the Rincon handle bar.

  2. Twist rubber grip to break glue bond.

  3. There are two methods for removing the grip:
    a. Use compressed air to blow under the rubber and slide the grip off.
    b. Peel the grip back over itself, (shown)

  4.  Clean off handle bar with suitable solvent.

  5. Gradually apply heater element with cables coming out towards the center of the Rincon towards the display console and under the handle bar as shown in next four pictures.

  6. Be careful so that no air bubbles are trapped under it by starting in the middle and working outward.

  7. Apply grip glue.

  8. Slide grip back onto handle bar and let dry overnight.
  9. Repeat same procedure for the other grip.

  10. Velcro mount Heat-troller dual zone switch box the top of the brake fluid reservoir.

  11. You should use contact cement to attach Velcro securely because of the raised print on the top of the lid. Leave screw heads of reservoir open for access.

  12. Route wires from both grips along bars to area behind the display console.
  13. Now the thumb throttle installation. Clean thumb throttle with alcohol.
  14. Apply heater element per instructions.

  15. Using wire ties, secure wires to the handle bars as shown. Make sure you slip the tubing cover over the 2 small thumb warmer wires before you apply the wire ties, see note in picture above.
  16. Put shrink tube over element and throttle and use hot air gun to shrink it onto the assembly.

  17. Hook the grip heaters to one circuit on the heat-troller and the thumb warmer to the other circuit following the wiring diagram.

  18. Wire tie the Heat-Troller control box to cables in the enclosure as shown.

  19. Run a ground wire back to the battery or attach second splice to Honda accessory white wire.

  20. For the grip heaters only hook up the high side element and tape or shrink tube off the low side (blue wire) which will not be needed.

  21. Finish wiring as per the wiring diagram.
